Godhand
Godhand. Now that is a name given with respect.
Masutatsu Oyama was dubbed the Godhand, a living manifestation of the Japanese warriors’ maxim Ichi geki, Hissatsu or “One strike, certain death”.
In 1952 Oyama started demonstrating his martial arts to American audiences where he took on all challengers resulting in 270 fights. He beat most of these people in under 3 minutes and usually with one punch.
It was claimed “If he hit you, you broke. If you blocked a rib punch, you arm was broken or dislocated. If you didn’t block, your rib was broken.”
He was also known as “The Bull Killer”. Yet another awesomely manly name and it’s not just a cool name his buddies gave him rather a name earned by killing 52 bulls…with his bare hands, four of which were killed with a single punch. He even developed a “knife-hand blow” that could break the bull’s horns.
You don’t get badass paintings of yourself karate chopping bulls by being a sissy.
Yet another nickname was Bear Fighter. I’m guessing that’s not just his girlfriends’ pet name for him either.
When I read about his death in 1994 from cancer, I realized that it was probably just a made up fact to make him seem more human. But I will always believe he died the way he lived…by punching himself to death.

I’d like to think that his hands grew too powerful and exploded killing everyone in a 10 mile radius.

sounds like a martial arts master, shame someone had to bring up ol’ bible-bashing norris again.
i don’t see the “mighty” chuck norris killing bulls and bears… plus chuck’s got nothng on bruce campbell’s chin alone
